Just came back from watching the movie. To date, I had only seen one movie remake that was better than the original, True Grit. Midway is now the second movie where the remake is better than the original. What's even better about this one is that it tells the story of not just one battle, Midway but three others as well, Pearl Harbor, Doolittle Raid and Coral Sea. Best war movie since Saving Private Ryan. Seen it last night & I just have to say one thing. Midway doesn't have to take a backseat to Saving Private Ryan. I also like how there was no real love story and they decided to keep it about the story and less about the woman love interest
and the plane fights were out of this wold to me it almost look very real that even thou cgi was used it didn't feel like it
also the cgi was outstanding and even with so many characters you grow with them through out the only one that compares to this would be saving private Ryan as much as I like that movie this I found better
And unlike pearl harbor 2001 this did that scene way way way better making more engaging I would recommend this to anyone who is a history buff and who likes war movies.
